What happens to your body when you quit drinking diet sodas

Diet carbonated drinks are like common sodas but they contain aspartame, an artificial sweetener and they also mention “0% calories” on the packaging. These things make them preferred by people, but researchers have demonstrated many benefits we can get if we give up this type of drinks.

Migraines disappear and attention grows. Aspartame modifies chemicals inside the brain, altering neural signals and the brain’s reward system, leading to headaches, anxiety, insomnia, according to a study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Taste buds are more sensitive. Aspartame is 200 thousand times sweeter than regular sugar, and taste buds are already accustomed to the sweet taste, so food is not equally tasted and “something sweet / salty” desires grow.
